my 'tiel is free-flying and i noticed when i did dishes she would land on my shoulder and start fluffing her feathers and preening and making croaking sounds. so now i bathe her after washing dishes. the runnign water sound makes her want to bathe. but then i noticed she only likes slightly warm water! if i use cold she flies away and makes un-happy noises at me.
i think showers are too hard and fast for a cockatiel. get a bath spray bottle. and spray the water over the bird so it falls gently from the air -- do not spray AT the bird. none of them like that.

I used food coloring and bubble bath when bathing my baby brother. He loved the bubbles and different colors every time.
Use a misting bottle. like the one's you use to mist tropical plants. Tiels don't like hard spray. They prefer a gentle mist. He's still young so it may take a few times before he gets use to it. Don't give up!
Maybe your bird isn't the type of bird that likes to be ';showered'; everyday. For, he might like taking his own bathes! What you have to do, is place a shallow bowl in your bird's cage, and fill it up with clean water. Though, you will have to make sure that the water is clean daily!
Other than that, I can't really think of anything else that you can do.

Try just leaving him alone! Make sure he has a dish to bathe in available in his cage. Healthy, normal birds have good instincts and will clean themselves if necessary.
If he really seems unsanitary, try getting a spray bottle with slightly warm (or at least room temp) water, and gently misting the bird a bit... he won't mind this as much as a direct spray of water.

My cockatiel isn't too fond of being sprayed but loves to drink from the shower.
She loves the bath, though. Not every time but I will place a bowl/bath of water near her and some days she jumps straight in, other days she will just drink from it. Some days she is completely drenched, other days she just wets her belly.

When is the best time to wax? Before or after a shower or bath?
I purchased some Parissa brand microwavable body wax and want to try waxing my legs myself. I wasn't sure if this would be easier to do before or after I took a bath and was thinking if I did it before I would still have some skin oils that might protect it better from the wax, but if I do it after my skin will be softer and maybe it will hurt less? How did you handle having baby with no bath, but only a shower? i do have a small basket that's for to wash baby but its up to toddler and i wonder if my baby will like it as she grows up? can they live without bath? i know many babies love bath to play with toys..but our place doesn't have bath..only shower...how did you handle that?

I have the same problem. At first I tried the sink, but our house is old and the countertops are so low that my back would KILL from trying to hold my son correctly. I ended up getting and inflatable baby tub. It is about 2.5 feet long and has a plug in the bottom, so you can drain it without having to mess with it too much. Right now, I set it on the countertop, with the plug over the sink. It raises my 3 month old up to my level, so I can support him well (I put a towel on the bottom so he isn't slipping all around). When we are done, I just pop the plug and go about my business of drying/clothing him. After it drains, I can just pick it up and store it in a closet so I don't have to inflate it every time. When the baby is sitting up on his own, I will move the little tub to the bottom of the shower. We will be able to use this for a while. When he is older, I plan on just doing a shower with him and then doing other things like a pool or something to that effect (hopefully we will be in a different house though, and I won't have to do that!)Baby with no bath, only shower?

You could always bath her in the laundry sink when she gets older. My friend does that as she does not have a bath tub. My newborn was having shower when he was younger and still does he plays in the running water and thinks it's great. If you are worried about your baby not having the 'play time' in the water you could always take him/her to the pool.
look at the primo euro tub...it is great...nbs can lay on the incline with a smalll amt of water ;and when they can sit up, they are supported sitting in the other end and u can add more water for them to play.....i am so glad i got it instead of those 'infant tubs'

I have the same problem. At first I tried the sink, but our house is old and the countertops are so low that my back would KILL from trying to hold my son correctly. I ended up getting and inflatable baby tub. It is about 2.5 feet long and has a plug in the bottom, so you can drain it without having to mess with it too much. Right now, I set it on the countertop, with the plug over the sink. It raises my 3 month old up to my level, so I can support him well (I put a towel on the bottom so he isn't slipping all around). When we are done, I just pop the plug and go about my business of drying/clothing him. After it drains, I can just pick it up and store it in a closet so I don't have to inflate it every time. When the baby is sitting up on his own, I will move the little tub to the bottom of the shower. We will be able to use this for a while. When he is older, I plan on just doing a shower with him and then doing other things like a pool or something to that effect (hopefully we will be in a different house though, and I won't have to do that!)Baby with no bath, only shower?

We're in the same predicament. We bought a large baby tub, and put that into the shower and washed her in it. We eventually found a sturdy plastic table and actually put the tub on it. What servant? I usually clean it every 1-2 weeks. I wish I had a servant to clean it, and everything else in my place. I've tried to train my pets, but they just aren't responsive.
I usually leave it in the hope my servant, i mean boyfriend will do it, but end up being so disgusted by it i do it myself
Well, the servant scrubs my back, wraps me in a towel and then leaves me in the sun for 2 hours so I get dry. I guess after that he cleans.
Alas my maid is hiding somewhere and won't answer the bell. So I am not going to pay her. I will do the job and pocket what she was to be paid. Sounds good, but will never happen. : {

Certain legends said that running water can kill a vampire, so they wouldn't be inclinded to go use a shower. However a bath should be fine and keep the smell off. No I wouldn't imagine them sweating though, since they don't need to sweat, due to not having any heat, because of their lack of blood.

The sad thing here is that all so many people think that the vampires that they see in the movies are true, the movie version of vampires are not even close to what the real thing is like. And so many people are so busy holding their noses which makes them a easy victims to be ambushed by these creatures. And try to remember this, that running water is not a friend to any vampire. Also no vampire will live in a place that would draw any attention to themselves. Also they are not friendly to humans in any way for they are just one of the most cursed creatures on this earth and they are pure evil.............. And it really take a very stupid person to want to be like them. Also God's rules about drinking blood is very clear, so you know beyond any doubt that their total destruction is forth coming...........

I showered for 15 minutes, I alternated shampoos between Garnier Fructis and Pantene Pro V, I do not use bar soaps, rather I used Red Zone High Endurance Body Wash(smells good). When I am in the shower it is usually hot but not too hotttt. I do use the same Shampoo and Conditioner because it is better for your hair and sometimes different body soap. You could actually make your own with Epsom salt, food coloring and a cologne, perfume, or some sort of scent. Just put them all together in a sandwich bag and shake it up. Then there are plenty of little bottles that you can put them in as well. You can make practically any color or scent you want then. Good for guys that still enjoy baths but don't want to smell like girls...

If not the color you want, add more food coloring and shake some more. Once you have your portions done, you can create more pink salts.
For White Bath Salts: Eliminate the food coloring.
Other items you can add to your basic recipe are:
Epsom Salts, Powered Milk, or Baking Soda.

I stand right under the shower and close my eyes, get totally lost in some wee dream. Then when i open my eyes i feel so refreshed, it's great.

Well, I personally like Showers in the mornng for the positive charge it gives you and baths at night. I highly suggest LUSH products, which are really wonderful. There's nothing better than envelopping yourself in your favourite scent. Try Happy Hippy in the morning! OOOOOHHHHH scrumptious!

Depends on whether you wish to relax or get clean. For relaxation a hot bath is best. To get clean, a shower (with a bath you're soaking in your own dirty water).
It is better takeing a shower because you can wash yourself and get all the dirt or sweat or whatever on you and it is no so smart to take a bath because when you take a bath you wah yourself and then sit in your own dirt unless you rinse yourself by the shower after that is good to.
When I was younger, I lived in an apartment with no shower, only a bathtub. (don't ask) and I was just as clean then as now! I wash my face while the tub is filling; it's not any different than taking a shower. As for sitting in dirty water, the magical properties of water makes the dirt rinse off.

Think about it, when you take a bath, you're just soaking in all the germs that you've just washed off. You're no cleaner when you get out than you were when you got in. Besides, bathing takes up so much more water than showering.

A shower, for the reasons stated above. A bath is pretty gross, if you think about it. I only take baths about once a year, and then it's to relax. I always shower first, then give the bathtub a good cleaning. The bathtub can catch germs from other people using it too, and they may be left in traces in the tub. Gross to think about. :P

we have woken this morning to NO water in the bath or shower hot taps. There is none in both, yet we have hot water in ALL other taps in the house.
please help i am desperate. have no money to pay for a plumber..:(NO water coming out of shower or bath tap ( hot)?
The only thing that comes to mind is that you may have 2 hot water heaters and the one used to heat the bathroom may have went out. Check to see if you have 2 hot water heaters and if you do check the pilot lights to make sure they are lit.
If you do not have 2 hot water heaters I would check all water lines running from the main hot water heater and make sure all shut-off valves are open.NO water coming out of shower or bath tap ( hot)?
Before you install flush all the line or you will plug the new parts%26gt;%26gt;
If you have a single handle (you turn one knob to turn the water on and adjust the temperature)... you may have a bad shower stem.
The stem is the unit right behind the handle, that mixes the hot and cold water together and then lets it proceed to the faucet or shower head.
If you get cold, and then as you dial toward hot the water slows and stops, that's probably it. (If your water heater was out, you'd still get cold water).
Fix:
1) turn off the water from the water heater and main (turn the red/yellow handles on the pipes from parallel to the pipes to 90 degree angle)
2) close the drain and put a towel on the tub floor -- to keep parts from falling down the drain.
3) Using a phillips screwdriver, take the front of the handle off, and work your way back into the wall. Handle, round metal circle against the wall, etc.
You may have a horse-shoe shaped brass clip holding a cartridge (canister about an inch across, brass tube sticking out the front) into the pipe. Hang on to it (I dropped mine behind the wall, and had to buy a new one).
4) Take the cartridge to the home improvement store for a replacement (mine, a Moen, was about $30). Leave the water turned off, or it will spray out that open pipe!
5) Insert the new unit into the pipe the same way you pulled the old one out. Grease it with a little vaseline. The rubber sides need to be on the left and right (not diagonal or top/bottom). Mine bunched up and wrecked the first new unit, so use caution pushing it in.
6) Reverse the take-apart process to replace the horseshoe, put the handles and covers back on. LAST turn on the water and operate the handle. Listen for leaks, and have your helper ready to shut the water back down quickly.
Since the pipe was open, water all thru the house 'settled' so all your faucets will sputter for a minute as the pipes fill back up.
It is very possible that you have a clogged pipe caused by an electromagnetic field created by joining two unlike metals like copper and galvanized steel. If your plumbing is older than 20 years, it could be this.
Check the pipes you can see and see if there are two different metals touching each other. If so, you'll need to remove the blockage and go with another fitting that does not let the metals touch. They are available at most home centers.

Since the pipe was open, water all thru the house 'settled' so all your faucets will sputter for a minute as the pipes fill back up.
It is very possible that you have a clogged pipe caused by an electromagnetic field created by joining two unlike metals like copper and galvanized steel. If your plumbing is older than 20 years, it could be this.
Check the pipes you can see and see if there are two different metals touching each other. If so, you'll need to remove the blockage and go with another fitting that does not let the metals touch. They are available at most home centers.

i am planning on remodeling my parents guest bathroom at some point. the 3 bedroom 2 bath house has a tiny little guest/kids bathroom with a bath/shower in it... i want to rip out everything because of its condition and i was wondering what sells better when it comes to selling the house? i could put in a large shower or put a bathtub+shower... any ideas... it would help if you are a realestate agent or just sold a house thanks...What is a better investment shower or bath???

Ok, I don't know of any antibacterial shower washes, so a lot of times I will go to the store and buy those huge bottles of hand soap and will shower with those. Out of curiosity is this getting me clean as regular bar soap and will this cause any problems with my skin?

Yes it is getting you clean, and it shouldn't cause problems with your skin unless your alergic to it. But if you've been washing your hands with it you should be fine, I mean dont use the ones with perfume scents in it though, that would be bad.
