My little girl is 2 and loves to take showers now. but she wants to by herself so i put her in give her a cloth with baby wash, soap up her hair and then let her do her thing. She loves washing the soap out of her hair and washing herself up. It cracks me up. when i ask her if she's ready to get out she'll tell me no! shower! love it. Also do you think its okay i let her shower on her own but just check on her?Does your young children prefer shower or baths?
my two kids still like to take baths they are more fun but its good she likes showersDoes your young children prefer shower or baths?
My son is only (nearly) 4 months, so of course he has no say on receiving only baths. :) But all of my nieces and nephews always preferred baths.
I wouldn't see a problem with her taking a shower. But since she is standing in a wet, soapy area, I would probably put those prints on the bottom of the shower floor. You know . . . Those things that help prevent slipping and give your feet a better grip while standing.
Since she is only 2, just check on her every few minutes and she should be fine. Be sure and go over the rules, such as, don't play with the faucets or changing temperatures. Tell her if it's too hot or too cold, either step back or step out and call you in so that you can adjust it. You don't want her to accidentally turn it too much and get it too hot.
In my opinion she is a bit to young of age to be so independent. I assume she is the only child or the oldest. Accidents can happen when you least expect it. I rather be safe then sorry, she could slip and hurt herself. If she insist on doing it herself I would provide her with all the materials and stand by the side the entire time. just in case she turns the water all the way hot and does not know how to turn it off or back. She could suffer burns from the temperature or head trauma from a fall.
at 2 it is fine. she can't wash her self correctly yet so it is good that you get her clean and let her have her fun. she should be at the age that it takes forever to get her in the shower and forever to get her our. it is normal.
my little boys love the bath. but if i had girls i would rather them take showers. the reason is sitting is soapy water while she plays could give her a vaginal infection. so if you do give her a bath, then let her play first then wash her up right before you take her out.
My son is 7 and running his own showers every morning. We bought and installed the removable hand-held shower head, so he can rinse his own hair. Puts him in a great mood and it's hard to get him out of there in time to eat, get dressed, and ready for school. How in the world did you get your daughter to start at age 2? That's amazing...
I think your system works perfectly, with you checking on her. The only thing I worry about with kids is them deciding to turn the knobs, and getting scalded. Sounds like you are covering all the bases...
Baths have always been more fun for us.
I think 2 is WAY too young to do it alone. Slips happen in an instant. Why not take a shower with her or atleast literally stand in front of her and watch her. I would not leave the bathroom at 2 years old.
AWWWW lucky you!
All of mine are bath babies....even my teen age boys....give them a dr pepper in a frozen mug....ESPN magazine and they are soaking in a Bergamont BATHTUB till I force them out!
Sounds like she loves a shower and if her hygiene is not lacking then YAY...this is just one less thing YOU have to do!
How did you get her to like the shower? I would really like to know. My 2 year old is scared of the shower. Did you do anything special?
We do baths *sigh* I wish mine did that!!
I think your daughter will be fine.
sure that's fine just stay close mom she is growing up how sweet my granddaughter is six and she will take all her toys in there and she will stay in there for awhile she loves showers.sounds like you are a great mom best wishes
my little girl started taking showers about 2 also. she loves it and she has to wash herself off and do it by herself. as long as she knows not to climb out alone.
Mine used to love baths - now they are 6 and 10 and they hate washing full stop!
Wow that is so great .
