Can showering/ taking a bath after sex prevent the spread of HPV for men?
No the virus can't be washed off.
The virus sheds viral particles from an infected person...this shedding occurs through the natural process of our skin or the lining of the cervix shedding. Sex creates lots of little micro-abrasion or micro-trauma to the skin. These virus particles enters these micro-trauma and start a replication of an outer growth of skin i.e. wart or the lesions of the lining of the cervix. A scratch can allow the virus an enter point鈥nd the hands can transmit the virus during sex play鈥efore a condom is even put on鈥?
Men often carry the virus with no outward growth such as a wart...the lesion of a high risk HPV type....most often never show as a wart...even though the virus lies in the tissue of the penis...
The virus can be spread through oral sex...
There is no safe sex...only safer sex...
The viral particles are able to penetrate the skin and mucosal surfaces through microscopic abrasions in the genital area, which occur during sexual activity. Once cells are invaded by HPV, a latency (quiet) period of months to years may occur.
